The Boat That Spunked

Is that title too risque?  Ahem.  ANYWAY - I've just watched The Boat That Rocked, and discovered the lovely Tom Sturridge.  I'm not quite sure where my sudden liking for fey indie boys has come from, but he's yummy.

See?

The Legend of the Spunk

Having exhausted Twilight and True Blood, I've been watching The Legend of the Seeker recently, which is kind of like Xena crossed with Lord of the Rings, and stars a lovely wee chap called Craig Horner.

Aww, so cute and cheeky!

And then he takes his shirt off and starts waving his Sword of Truth around.

Blimey.

MEN IN UNIFORM

Today's date is 09/09/09 - lovely :) The perfect excuse for me to post pictures of MEN IN UNIFORM. There's also a more serious bit at the bottom, after the usual dose of photos.

My personal favourite when it comes to the emergency services are FIREMEN. Not just because they are sexy, but also because I think they're pretty brave and they drive big trucks with sirens - what's not to like?

Ok, lets get started:

Kurt Russell and William Baldwin in Backdraft - oh, it's a silly film but there's some fab montages of fighting fires and running around and LOTS of nice men in uniforms to power ballads :) Watch the trailer, go on :)

The Towering Inferno is an excellent film - you can see the trailer here on IMDb. It stars the lovely Steve McQueen and Paul Newman. Both very handsome men in their day, I think you'll agree?

Of course, no post about Firemen would be complete without mentioning the events of September 11th 2001. As we're coming up on the 8th anniversary of that fateful day, it only seems right to show respect for the bravery of the emergency services of New York - I hope you won't think badly of me for posting about this here.

World Trade Centre
, starring Nicholas Cage is well worth watching, and is more or less guarenteed to make you cry too. Have another trailer while we're at it. Ok, I should point out that the film isn't about Firefighters, they are Port Authority police officers.

Finally, some links which you should visit:

National September 11 Memorial and Museum
- really inspiring design ideas
The Unofficial Fire Department of NY site - which is nicer than the official one, I think :)
All Gave Some, Some Gave All. Always Remember - The Uniformed Firefighter's Association Tribute to members who perished on 09/11/01

Captain Tight Pants *Not Work Safe!*

This weekend I'm going to Bestival and dressing up like a Browncoat - if you don't know what that means, I insist that you go and look {here}

Anyway, in honour of that, it's time to revel in the glory that is Nathan Fillion.

Yes, he's been in a many excellent shows and movies, including Buffy but to me, he will always be Captain Malcom Reynolds.

Shiny.

Oh, and here he is naked. Mmmm.
He's even on Twitter if you fancy following him. I'd recommend it ;)

Go Team Jacob!

I have recently been alerted to the wonder that is the Twilight series, but I have to say, I'm definitely on the side of the wolves. I give you the lovely Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob.

And here's a cheeky still from the New Moon trailer. Oh my ...

Wizard boys!

If you don't know which film is being released tomorrow, then you must have been living in a cave for a long time.

In the spirit of Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince, I thought I'd add these rather attractive young lads to this blog - it still feels a bit odd, as we first met them when they were waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too young, but they are all turning into quite lovely young men :)

Daniel Radcliffe - Harry Potter

Rupert Grint - Ron Weasley

My personal favourite: Tom Felton - Draco Malfoy

Mr Tumnus!

Watched Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe the other night, and remembered just how lovely James McAvoy is :)
